Romantic Masterworks Adult Ticket
Get ready to lose yourself in the mysterious atmosphere of the most beautiful music to come out of Russia in the late nineteenth century. Rimsky-Korsakov’s sensuous tone poem Scheherazade is paired with Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous Violin Concerto in D, performed by Matt Pickart, upcoming violin virtuoso and Beloit native. The Scheherazade will feature our Guest Concetmaster, Olga Pomolova, who resides in Madison and is currently the Assistant Concertmaster for the Madison Symphony Orchestra.
The concert will be preceded by a brief talk by Dr. Rob Tomaro titled: A Thousand and One Nights: Romanticism and Seduction in Pre-Soviet Russia. In Eaton Chapel, the pre-concert talk will begin at 6:45pm.
